Welcome to Eat’n’Mess! It all started back in my home kitchen in 2013. I am Danielle and I run the company with my partner Matt. We have been on a rollercoaster of a journey so here is a little insight into how things started: Eat’n’Mess started from my home kitchen selling bakes at Greenwich Market, London. It is here where the brand started evolving. During this time I was also battling with food intolerances, one of which was gluten (or so I thought). I would offer both gluten-free and regular bakes at my market stall and quickly realised that there was a huge demand for gluten-free bakes, but without the risk of contamination. After lots of testing, I adapted my recipes to be all gluten-free and worked hard on making sure the taste was right to appeal to the wider market and not just customers needing gluten-free.

We were quickly becoming recognised on the London market scene and started selling at Broadway Market, Hackney as well. We were also slowly building up a following in the local area.

In 2016 we did a fundraising campaign (Kickstarter) to help us open our first bakery/café. With the help of all the lovely people that donated we opened our first space in Sevenoaks in October 2016.

At the start of 2020 we started selling our bakes online. As you can imagine there were lots of challenges we had to face over the year and the next. In July 2021 we decided to close our shop on the high street and move to what is now The Pod which is next to our bakery.

We have an amazing team of people that have helped create all our cakes you collect and see at the Pod.

We have lots of exciting projects in the pipeline which we can’t wait to share with you all!
